Literature Text

Hours later, after the eclipse ended, and Appa picked them up, Jet and Zuko were walking for a long time, with everyone else who came with them, which now included Teo, Haru and The Duke. Jeko was sound asleep in Zuko's arms, as they continued walking to the Western Air Temple.

"This is humiliating..." Katara said.

"You mean getting thoroughly spanked by the Fire Nation or having to walk to the Western Air Temple?" Sokka asked.

Katara sighed. "Both.." she said.

"Sorry guys." Aang said. "But Appa gets tired carrying all these people." he stroked Appa under the eye.

"I wonder how the rest of the troops are doing?" Teo asked.

"They're probably on their way to a prison." Haru said. "It seems like my dad just got out, now he's going back in..." Haru's expression darkened, remembering how long his father was in prison.

"I miss Pipsqueak." The Duke said.

"I miss not having blisters on my feet!" Sokka comlained.

"You get used to it. Sort of." Zuko said, knowing he's delt with foot problems during his recent pregnancy.

"Yeah yeah.." Sokka said, rolling his eyes.

"I hope Uncle's okay..." Zuko said.

"I'm sure he's fine." Jet said, putting his hand on Zuko's shoulder. "He can handle himself."

Zuko smiled at Jet, comforted by his words.

Toph soon stopped in her path. "Hey, we're here!" Toph said. "I can feel it."

Katara couldn't see anything. "Um.." she said. "I think your feet need their eyes checked."

"No," Aang said. "She's right. We are here!"

---

So after they all got in the temple, Katara, Aang, Toph and Sokka talked while Haru, Teo and The Duke checked around. Jet and Zuko sat down in the next room from where the gang was.

"So what's the new plan?" Aang asked.

"Well," Sokka said. "I say the new plan... is the old plan! You just need to master all four elements and confront the Fire Lord before the commet comes."

"You sure?" Aang asked. "Where am I gonna find a firebending teacher?"

"Gee, I wonder." Toph said, smiling with her arms crossed.

"Toph," Katara said. "Are you thinking what I think you are?"

"If by that you mean ask Zuko to teach Aang," Toph said. "Then yeah."

"I'm not sure.." Aang said. "Zuko just had a baby, so I'm not sure if he'd be up to it."

"Well it wouldn't hurt to ask." Toph said.

---

"I'm not sure..." Zuko said. "I have a son now, so I don't know if I can teach you."

"I understand." Aang said. "But I still need a firebending teacher. If you decide to teach me, just let me know." Aang walked out of the room, leaving Zuko with his mate and son. Jet was holding Jeko while Zuko talked to Aang.

"You know," Jet said. "I could take care of him if you decide to teach Aang."

Zuko looked at Jet. "I don't know, Jet," he said. "I'm not sure if I can teach him."

"You sure you're not just saying that because you don't want to leave Jeko alone?" Jet asked. Zuko sat down next to him. "I know he was just born not too long ago, but maybe it's time you took a small break from mothering him so much."

Zuko raised his brow. "What are you trying to say?" he asked.

"Just that, if you do teach Aang," Jet said. "I can take care of him during the teaching sessions."

"Why do you want me to teach him so bad?" Zuko asked, feeling strange about the conversation.

"Well," Jet said. "It's not that I want you to teach him, I just feel that you have to. There's no one else who can teach Aang firebending, and the comet's coming pretty soon."

"That's true.." Zuko said, putting his hand to his chin. He thought this over, glancing at Jet and their son every so often, until he finally came to a decision. "Fine." he said finally. "I'll teach him." Zuko stroked Jeko's hair for a few seconds, then stood up. "If you need any help, just ask me or Katara." Zuko said, walking out of the room.

"I will." Jet said, looking at his son, sleeping in his arms.

Zuko noticed the gang was watching something, and he heard something that sounded kind of like crashing. He ran to the scene.

"What's going on?" Zuko asked.

"Two people are being chased by something!" Sokka said.

Down below the temple, two girls were running from a giant animal. It swung it's tail at the girl dressed in Earth Kingdom clothing, but she jumped before it could knock her down. The girl dressed in Water Tribe clothing was behind the beast, hoping it wouldn't notice her. It did. The girl saw the monster looking at her, and it charged for her. The other girl then stomped her foot in the ground, and trapped the beast in a piece of earth. The girl lifted her hands, bringing a giant piece of earth over the animal, and with a quick downward movement of her arms, it crushed the monster where it stood.

"Hey, that one's an earthbender!" Sokka cried, amazed by her ability.

"But, who are they?" Katara asked.

The earthbender walked to her sister, and by raising her hands, lifted them both up on a moving earth pillar. She stopped when they reached the part of the temple where the gang stood. They both jumped off, landing in front of them.

"I didn't know people still lived here." The earthbender said. "I'm Kas, this is my sister, Kari."

"Hey." Kari said.

They all blinked, except Toph.

"What?" Kas said. "Can't a man from the Earth Kingdom and a woman from the Northern Water Tribe meet, fall in love and have kids of two different bendings?"

"No it's not that." Sokka said. "We've just never heard of that."

"So you're a waterbender?" Katara asked Kari.

"Yeah," Kari said. "But I'm mostly a healer."

"I'm Aang." Aang said, walking to her. "I'm the --"

"The Avatar!" Kas said, giving Aang a light, friendly punch in the arm. "Sweet, it's cool to meet ya."

"Thanks." Aang said. "These are my friends," He gestured to them. "Sokka, Katara, Toph, and --"

"Zuko?" Kas said, her eyes wider. "Is that you?"

Zuko blinked. "I'm sorry, do I know you?" he asked.

"You don't remember me?" Kas asked. "I was in that Earth Kingdom town that ran you out after you saved their butts from the bully soldiers."

Zuko suddenly remembered this girl. Only the last time he saw her, she was sad. In fact, she was the only one who wasn't angry at him.

"Yeah.." Zuko said. "I do remember you."

Kas suddenly hugged Zuko, completely out of Zuko's expectations.

"Small world." Toph said, smiling.

"How do you two know each other, again?" Katara asked.

Kas stopped hugging Zuko, and faced the others. "A few months ago, Zuko came to this Small Earth kingdom town that was controlled by these thugs." she said. "He saved a young boy, who had bonded with him during his short stay, from going into the army. But after everyone found out he was a firebender, much more the prince, everyone shunnded him and ran him out, including that brat..." Kas clenched her fists. "I'll never understand how people can be so harsh to someone just because of who they are."

"Kas," Zuko said, putting her hand on her shoulder. "Why did you leave?"

"I was sick of living in a town full of such ungreatful people." Kas said. "Truth is I was babysitting for Lee for a few months before you came." Kas turned to face Zuko. "You inspired me to finally move on."
Kas and Kari make their apearance! =D

yeah... now Zuko is gonna be Aang's firebending teacher. Jet will take care of Jeko during the teaching with Katara's help.

Yup. I hope the next chapter won't be too hard to do.... I don't think it's time for the chapters based on "The Boiling Rock" just yet.

When Kas talked about her parents being from diffrent elements it made me thing of Bolin (earth bender) and Mako's ( fire bender) parents.
