Zuko woke up one day, feeling... warm. He wasn't sick anymore, and Jet was still asleep. Zuko then realized Jet was the one making him warm. Zuko found that he liked it, and accepted that Jet was in his life. He sat up, looking at Jet as he slept. That is until Jet turned and looked at him. Zuko smiled, Jet smiled back. Jet sat up, and got closer to Zuko, his stomach pressing against Zuko's bulge as they kissed.
Then they both felt something, which Zuko felt more: The baby's first kick.

Zuko's eyes slightly widened as the two both looked down at his belly. Jet sat down beside Zuko, pressing his hand to Zuko's stomach. Zuko's mouth was slightly gaping as this happened. He knew now, without a doubt, he was pregnant.

"Jet.." Zuko said. "I don't believe it. It's alive.."

"Yeah.." Jet said, gently rubbing the spot where they felt the kick. It kicked again, making Jet smile. "I never thought I'd end up having a kid with another guy... let alone the Fire Nation prince." He kissed Zuko on the cheek.

Zuko smiled. "And I never thought I'd ever have a kid with someone if I was the one having it..." He blushed. "But you know.. I'm okay with it."

Jet pulled up Zuko's shirt. "I'm glad." He scooted lower to Zuko's belly, and pressed his ear against it, his hand right next to his hand. Zuko smiled as he did this. "H-hey..." Jet said to their baby. "I know you just started to move ... but... if you can hear me, or even understand what I'm saying.. Heh.. I never imagined you'd be coming into my life, but I can't wait to meet you. And I'm sure your .. um... I'm sure he can't wait either."

Zuko, still smiling, stroked his hand through Jet's hair, making him look at him. "Tell the baby I'm just as happy as you are."

Jet nodded, and went back to the belly. "He says he's as happy as I am." With that, the baby gave a hard kick, making Jet chuckle, and Zuko blush. "We're both looking forward to having you. I promise I won't let anything happen to you."

Jet lifted his head, and kissed Zuko's belly. He then came back up, and lay down with Zuko. The two boys just gazed at each other, smiling. They both knew they wanted this baby, more than anything. Zuko scooted closer to Jet, as they put their arms around each other.

In unison, they then said the most promising words they could think of to say to each other:
"I love you."
